Israel's army said that it does not generally attack hospitals but that it quote would do what we need to do if Hamas fires from them as reports emerged

of explosions and fighting in or near three hospitals in northern Gaza.

According to Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry,

a missile landed in the courtyard of the enclave's largest hospital, Al-Shifa, on Friday.

The source of the projectile and extent of the damage could not be independently verified.

Israeli forces have claimed that Hamas fighters are in tunnels beneath the hospital, which Hamas denies.

Joe Biden will meet Xi Jinping, his Chinese counterpart during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

Summit in San Francisco on Wednesday.

American officials said that the two would have a wide-ranging discussion that would touch

on Taiwan, the war between Israel and Hamas and election interference. The leaders have not met in person for one year.

Britain's economy stagnated in the third quarter after a quarterly expansion of

0.2% in the three months to June.

High borrowing costs weighed down investment, which fell by 4.2%, high living costs, squeezed consumer spending by 0.4.2 percent. High living costs squeezed consumer spending by 0.4 percent. But the

country escaped the start of a recession thanks to an improved trade balance. The Bank of England expects no growth in 2024. The

FBI reportedly seized Eric Adams' phones and iPad on Monday in what appeared to be an escalation of its corruption investigation
