I wrote hundreds of pop culture references,

at least 250 inappropriate jokes

and God knows how many footnotes.

I even drove to San Diego for the epilogue

to spend time with Bill Walton.

And when the book reached number one

on the New York Times bestseller list,

that was all I ever wanted.

I was done.
