This is Hotel Mars, and we're visiting with Professor Peter Schultz, who were these

colleagues in Geology magazine published the evidence and the observation of what they

discovered in the high desert of Chile, the after-common desert.

Now the question is, the day of the comet strikes, the bowline that never reached the earth,

but it didn't vaporize it, it glastized the surface.

What was there before and with that amount of heat?

What was the result?

Now Professor, there is speculation that there was megafauna here, human beings not living

here, watching this or surviving this.

Do you believe the heat from the comet or the conditions created by the comet affected

the climate of this region or affected fossilized the region for 12,000 years?

Or was it already fossilized?

I think it was already fossilized and this was a period of time to change and megamammals

were disappearing at about the same time, but there's no real connection between the mammals

that disappeared and this event.

That's way too soon and the highest speculative we just can't say that.

After all, the humans were there, they didn't disappear either.

So we know that things can survive.

So I think the real issue is what exactly happened, so this is why we need to go back to do

the forensics to get a very, very pinnate.
