Hi guys, this is Kira Trabur calling in to say why I chose Chippewen's at Bird Door.

I remember that was one of the first episodes of the Nod. I had ever heard I was still trying to feel it like what is this show?

All I knew is that this is a show about Black culture. And I thought this could go anywhere and everywhere.

And I don't know what the word is for it. Delighted, thrilled, elated, inspired, welcomed.

As a Black queer woman, I'm often having to filter Black culture and movies and music through a lens of heteronormativity,

of straight couples, of men and women do that. And this is how they are together.

And this was an episode that was saying Black culture and Black queer culture are one and the same.

And worthy of an entire episode of this awesome new show. And I right away texted my partner.

I was like, you've got to listen to this episode of this new show that I just found.

It is so good. You're going to love it.

So that was the show they really first turned me out. And I never looked back.
