Most important victory at the polls was Nathan Hockman beating George Gascon for Los Angeles County, DA.

You live in L.A. County. This was the race that will have an impact on your life with all the absurd crime that we've had to put up with ever since George Gasconi won four years ago over Jackie Lacey.

And secondly, Prop 36 repealed much of Prop 47, winning 70 to 30 roughly.

Again, that was repealing Prop 47, which was written by George Gascon.

It's just stunning the amount of damage Gascon has done to the state, to San Francisco,

and to Los Angeles over the last decade.

But his reign is over.

How are you?

I'm great, John.

Thank you very much.

When you were officially declared the winner, what was, what were you

feeling inside? Well, it was about 107 a.m. And it was a great feeling. It was sort of the

culmination of years of reaching out to people across this great county. I've probably spoken to literally

thousands of people from the far left to the far right and everything in between, black, white,

Latino, Asian organizations and people, every religious group. I've been to bakeries and

barbecues up and down this county. And it was interesting.

You know, these folks don't agree on much, but when it came to safety, safety was the crossover

issue because everyone wants them, their spells and their families to be safe. They want to go back
