You may have heard that there was a fire, a homeless encampment in this pulvered

basin, which is a big park area, Burbank Boulevard, Woodley Avenue. And the firefighters

ran over to the encampment. It was a breastfire.

And something blew up. Eleven firefighters were hurt. One really badly. His ear was nearly severed.

And they were able to reattach it at Northridge Hospital.

But 10 other firefighters suffer from headaches, reamed to the air, ears, shrapnel wounds.

Most were evaluated at the hospital and released.

But again, there was one firefighter severely injured.

They have now determined that the explosion was caused by a propane tank.

At first, they thought there was some kind of, I don't know, the bomb squad came.

that firefighters are facing from these homeless encampments. He's given us a bunch of statistics.

Do you know they get 66,000 calls?

Well, last year, 66,381 total incidents associated with homeless people between paramedics,

firemen and other incidents, 66,000.

2022, it was 60,000.

And so far, first quarter of the year,

it's on pace to be around another 66,000.
