I will say in the age of social media.

Very rarely does anything happen that is genuinely a surprise.

As far as we talk a lot about gossip and rumor and speculation, it's kind of the commodity that we trade in here in sports talk radio.

That's what we do.

We're pretty good at it at this point.

We've done a long time.

And typically the way it works is way before things actually happen, we kind of know they're going to happen.

Meaning there's rumors, there's chatter, there's, you're very typically not caught off guard

by anything, just the way it is, right?

The story will come out, whether it's Jay Glazer or Adam Schaefter,

somebody will report the rumor several days before it becomes reality.

And most of the time they're right. They're not always right, but most of the time they're right.

It had been assumed that a certain NFL head coach would be let go. That he would not be around.

In fact, it was the big story.

One of the final weekends of the NFL season, it broke hours before his team played a game.

The players in the locker room on their phones were reading about it.

They went out and just got charboiled in their game. So it was a

bit of a surprise when we found out that Marvin Lewis would not be let go in Cincinnati,

a jaw-dropping announcement by the Bengals. Leave them speechless.
