1:18.2	Yoren, would you like to introduce yourself and say a little bit about your background?
1:21.9	Okay, sure. Thank you for having me. I'm Yuran and I'm a grad student in sociology at Harvard
1:30.3	University. My primary academic interest is in political and historical sociology and
1:40.0	also Marxist theories. I in particular study political economy and class politics in China
1:49.5	and as a side project I also study China's contemporary Maoism and other than academic
1:56.8	stuff I have also been involved in left activism and labor organizing both in China and the

2:05.8	I'm extremely excited and honored to have you on. This is this whole topic I think is
2:10.4	something that is sort of under representative and sort of misunderstood on the US left.
2:16.6	I think there are a lot more people are familiar with the Russian Revolution and the Cuban
2:20.2	Revolution but there isn't a lot of real knowledge on the left about the Chinese Revolution
2:25.1	and I've been getting really interested in Maoism and the Chinese Revolution generally
