We're talking about the Notre Dame running back room, and it's a continuation of our state of the program series.

But we're looking at it with a little bit different of a light with the running back room.

And simply put, it's because they're the only position room on the entire roster that had to replace not one, but two first round NFL draft picks,

which raises a lot of questions about the state of this room.

We can break down state of the program like we will, I believe tomorrow, about the

defensive backs, and we could talk about the state of the program with wide receivers and

their upside, but none of those rooms have to replace a first round draft pick.

We'll be having that conversation next year with the defensive back room.

I'm very confident in saying that.

But reality of the situation, Notre Dame is in a spot where they have to replace

Jeremiah Love and Judarian Price after they were both taken in the first round of the NFL

draft.

And that's kind of where they're at.

No position room has bigger shoes to fill.

And that's where we have to start this conversation with the running back room. I mean, Treb, it's such an interesting conversation because when you look at this group, it's not just, it's not your typical, well, you've guys got, you guys have some guys to replace. Like replacing Malachi Fields is not going to be easy. Replacing Billy Strout and Emil Wagner is not going to be easy. Now, now we've talked about how we think they're going to even be better on the offensive line, might even be better, but it's not going to be easy. Guys have to improve, they have to get better. It's not going to be easy to replace Josh Burnham and junior Tillamaca and Jordan Betojo. It's not going to be easy to replace Jared Dawson and Gabriel Rubio and Donovan Hines.

It's not going to be easy, you know, to replace Eli Rairdon.

Like that's, but that's what everybody's dealing with.

This is kind of like Ohio State having to replace Sunny Stiles and Arvill Reese.

Like not every replace and reload is the same.

And when you're replacing two running backs that became the first running backs in the history of the common draft to be the number one and number

two running backs taken, that's big. But on top of that, you have to look at it, Trevor, it goes
