0:20.3	and it has been a little bit since we have done an episode. We've had pretty busy schedules in both of our lives that have taken us away from the show for a little bit. But we are back today to discuss a very important issue that I think is, you know, an obligation for communists to speak out about at the moment and to be pushing,
0:38.9	you know, where these discussions are going. So today we are going to dive into what is
0:43.3	happening in Palestine and the conflicts that we are seeing there as Palestinian resistance is
0:49.1	fighting back against Israeli occupation and genocide. And we are seeing a big flare-up happening in this context.
0:55.5	One of the reasons that I think, you know, it's important for us to talk about this is really one of
1:00.3	the things that I'm most proud of Red Menace for is that we have been very vocal about decolonization,
1:05.8	both as a historical reality and as a theoretical position. We have episodes throughout the past of our show,
1:12.5	looking into the work of Phenon, looking into how decolonization was explored in the Battle of
1:17.6	Algiers as a film, and looking into how to understand the entire genocide that is happening within
1:25.2	Palestine through the lens of settler colonialism and decolonial
1:28.5	struggle. And one thing that I think is very important that we always come back to as
1:33.2	communists is to tie our views into the necessity for decolonization for decolonial struggle and
1:38.7	what that means. And at this moment, this is particularly key. We are seeing a intensification of resistance that has struck a
1:46.3	very sizable blow to Israel that has also, you know, led to intense backlash from the Israeli
1:52.7	occupying forces with a brutal and devastating and absolutely genocidal bombing campaign
1:59.1	happening within Gaza, as well as now a ground invasion which is taking place.
2:04.3	It is hard to tell the scope of that at the exact moment. But in this moment, we think that it's really
2:09.1	important and key to discuss these issues because as communists, we need to be finding these
2:14.1	struggles that are at the forefront of the struggle against imperialism and
2:18.2	capitalism. And the struggle against Israeli occupation in Palestine is definitely one of these.
