Today we celebrate the life of Sonny Jurgensen, an absolute Redskins legend, an icon of the organization,

somebody that made an impact for 60 years to fans, whether you saw him play, whether you saw

them on television with George Michael, whether you listen to the radio broadcast with Frank

Herzog or Larry Michael. Sonny Jorgensen made an impact on everybody that ever owned, a

burgundy and gold t-shirt. To celebrate Sunny's life, we've got Larry Michael, former voice of the Redskins joining

us now on the Rude guest hotline.

Larry, you know, those of us that knew Sunny was 91 years old, I doubt this day comes

as a shock, but what does it mean to you?

It's tough, man. It's tough.

I lose a close friend and a hero at the same time for me.

It's really tough.

And I guess I was probably one of the few people that knew this might be happening here today or in the coming days.

And even though I had a little knowledge about what was happening with Sunny, I'm just, I'm just devastated, man. I really am. It's just, uh, he, he's a one of the kind guy. You guys knew him. And I don't, it would take all day to talk about how complex he was, and he was a good friend, too.

That's what really hurts the most.

What are – obviously – I mean, you and Sonny worked together for a number of years broadcasting Redskins games.

It was you and Sonny and Sam, and then later it became you and Sunny and Coolly and Brian and I were

laughing about it obviously Sonny and Sam as they kind of aged in the broadcasting booth
