Hi everyone and welcome to Battle on Paper podcast. I'm Olivia Mentor and I'm Becca Freeman.

0:24.0

And today we're talking about our favorite books of 2022. Our last episode of the year, can you believe it?

0:30.0

I can't believe it. We've been podcasting for seven months together. Eight months?

0:36.0

That's, I guess. Yeah, but then you emailed me in January 2022. So it's really like a full circle moment.

0:43.0

We still haven't planned our podcast anniversary trip.

0:45.0

I know. Things have been crazy. That may or may not be too Toronto because I still have not been to Canada.

0:51.0

Okay, we're going to do it. It's going to happen. It's just the matter of when life has a breathing moment and then we can do it then.

0:59.0

That's fair. Back to this episode though. It's not just our favorite books of the year. It's also a listener voicemail episode.

1:04.0

So it's your favorite books of the year too. And we got a bunch of fun submissions.

1:08.0

Yeah, thank you to everyone who left voicemails. I have enjoyed listening to all of them.

1:13.0

Well, before we get into books, should we do some highs and lows?

1:17.0

Yeah, tell me about your high. I have two highs. So my first high was my trip to Nantucket over the weekend.

1:23.0

I so thoroughly enjoyed myself. I expected to love it because I love all of Ellen Hilderbrand's books and I was excited to go.

1:32.0

Nantucket looks like a town from a hallmark movie. It looks fake.

1:38.0

It did from your Instagram. It looked absolutely magical.

1:43.0

It was so magical. It was so fun. We did winter stroll, which I wasn't sure what that was last week.

1:49.0

Was it a stroll? No. What I would compare it to is 60 plus Uber wealthy Santa con.

1:59.0

Wow. I don't know if that is intriguing or a little scary or both.

2:05.0

It was very fun. Oh, it was very fun. There were a lot of older people getting after it.

2:10.0

Of course, naturally. In costumes. Lots of wine consumed.

2:14.0

Yeah, it was very fun. I loved it. I'm already dying to go back. I want to go for longer.

2:20.0

And I also want to go at a less busy time because I think Christmas stroll is almost akin to a summer weekend in terms of how many tourists are there.
