wild year for the U.S. Women's National Team, a year where Emma Hayes assumed the role

of head coach to much fanfare, much a whirlwind New York City tour for her,

and then went on to win gold at the Paris Olympics, plus, you know, Naomi two goals, Garma,

by the end of the year.

2024 was also a year where we said goodbye to many familiar faces on the national team

over the past two decades and a year where we saw the next generation of stars

begin to emerge. So let's get to it. To kick off this U.S. Women's National Team themed

Best of episode, here's a segment from our interview with 99ers, Bryce Scurry and Julie Fowdy,

who celebrated 25 years since winning the 1999 World Cup this past July.

Just to dive right into it, 25 years later, the 99ers are still everywhere.

We're seeing you showing up at games.

We're seeing you involved at ownership levels of various clubs in the NWSL.

And I'm just curious if each of you could sort of talk about why you think that particular team has been so intentional about remaining present in the soccer space all these years later.
