I was going through these letters about Mozart's life and one for example was by

left by a musician who was writing to Mozart's sister about some of his his

memories and he recalls going over to Mozart's house to play with his father

when Mozart is little and Mozart's father was a musician and a group of adult musicians go over and

little Mozart comes in and says I want to play second

violin and Mozart's father goes get out of here you haven't had any lessons you

can you don't know how to play violin and Mozart starts crying and so this the letter writer says, I'll go with, you know, with him in the other room and play with him so he'll stop crying. And the father says, and Mozart's father says, fine, but just be quiet in there. you know, play low.

And next thing you know, they start hearing

the second violin part coming from the other room.

So Mozart's father and the other adult musicians

go in there and they see Mozart playing with made up fingering by the way like
