I have had a cold recently, but I am feeling much better now.

In this story, Bernice comes home from school, and while she is telling Papa Bear about her

day, she tells him that Bobby and Gertrude and several other children were out sick from

school.

She and Papa Bear talk about this and how they can stay healthy.

Bernice's friends don't feel well.

Hi, Papa.

I'm home.

Yeld Bernice, as she walked in the front door of their small house, closing the door quickly,

so all the warm air didn't escape.

First, taking a moment to catch her breath, she said, Papa, I think I am frozen like a

popsicle.

Papa, coming to the front door, said, it is pretty cold outside, little bear.

Your cheeks look all rosy.

Papa, it's so cold outside that even the snow bear in our front yard is wearing a sweater.

Yes, I was concerned he might be too cold, so I put an old sweater on him this morning,

Papa Bear said laughing.

Why don't you take your coat and boots off and come into the kitchen for some hot treats?

Okay, Papa, the cookie smells super delicious.

After she hung up her jacket and put away her winter boots, Bernice ran into the kitchen

where Papa Bear placed a mug of hot cocoa on the table.
