In 2018, Berkshire County in Massachusetts saw an explosion of violent murders. In the years between 2009-2019, there were approximately 25 homicides in Berkshire County, with approximately 25% of these in 2018.

1:49.8	The new year began with the murder of Crystal Lee Steele Nudselin by her husband Mark Steele Nudselin
1:57.4	on January 4th 2018. On January 5th Mark went to the Adams Police Department and reported that he
2:06.1	had done something very bad and that he should be put in handcuffs holding out his hands to be cuffed.
2:14.6	He went on to tell the interviewing officer that he had struck Crystal several times with a hammer
2:20.7	and then stabbed her in the back with a stainless steel kitchen knife.
2:25.5	Officers found Crystal's body in the basement of the couple's home wrapped in a tarp.
