Mental health is just out of control in our country and just from speaking

with different people from different parts of the world it's it's really running rampant

there's not enough uh definitely not enough providers out there um one of the cool things

about doing this podcast i realize is a lot of publishers contact me and they sent me books.

And I've always been an avid reader.

And I can't have any of my own patients on, obviously, for ethical reasons.

But I was very happy to read a book that I have a tremendous guest on today who's on the West Coast.

And we're on the East Coast and her name is melissa bond

and she wrote an amazing book called blood orange night my journey uh to the edge of madness

about uh something that is all too common uh from my experience as a neuropsychologist

certainly from julie's experience as a neuropsychologist, certainly from Julie's experience

as a psychiatric prescriber. As you can hear, Julie's in the background, putting lemons on the

plates. That's how we do things here. So Melissa, Benjidiasopines, they were never designed to be

long term. They were not heavily studied in research because they had these Benzodiazepines, they were never designed to be long-term.

And you have, you had quite a harrowing experience with benzodiazepines.
