0:35.6	Good morning. Thanks for listening in. I'm very excited to share with you some things today from the beautiful breath of fresh air, Gospel of John.
0:44.6	If you are familiar with Excel still more or listen to the episodes, then you know that we have a Bible reading program where it is a New Testament chapter every single day.
0:54.1	We also do an Old Testament chapter, but we keep that New Testament chapter every single day. We also do an Old Testament chapter,
0:55.7	but we keep that New Testament chapter going day after day. There are 260 chapters in the New
1:01.7	Testament, so about every eight months or so, you roll all the way through the scripture. And the
1:07.0	revisiting of the text with that kind of cadence has been the richest approach to study
1:13.6	life changes and preaching of anything I've ever done. So we're at the back end of that cycle,
1:19.7	and it'll reset, but we're in John's letters, the Gospel of John, and then First, Second,
1:23.7	Third John, and Revelation. And what I love about John's gospel is it is likely
1:28.3	written after Matthew, Mark, and Luke were already being circulated. It is quite different
1:33.8	than those. We know that Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called synoptic gospels. They take a similar
1:38.8	view of the text. They tell a lot of the same stories. John comes to it from a very different angle. He has this central
1:46.6	purpose to convince you to believe that Jesus is the son of God. If you will believe in who he is from
1:56.0	God, repeatedly, John writes, and Jesus says, you will have eternal life. His focus is on Christ's
2:05.3	identity, chapter one, he is deity from the beginning, he is the light, he is the shepherd,
