Summary

In Episode #72, I sat down with plant-based yogi Sjana Earp to chat about yoga, healing, transformation, and living with purpose. This is a different exchange to the more scientific episodes on this show, yet equally as informative and thought provoking in its own unique way. Sjana shares her struggles with mental health – bullying, anxiety, and depression – and her strategies for overcoming negative feelings. We also discussed what yoga means to her, her relationship with food, and why she transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle. We cover a lot of topics in this conversation, including social media, what purpose is, breaking the stigma associated with mental health issues, and sustainability and looking after our planet. to do something for me. But clearly, if you don't ask, you don't get. So if you're enjoying

I was at the point where I was only doing things for the gram. You have people at DUP for

0:45.9

the gram. I was literally only going to the beach and the morning to take this photos

0:50.0

for Instagram and it took the joy out of it. Now it was only going to cafes to have

0:54.2

lunch with friends and stuff like that so that we could get the Instagram shot together.

And it took the purpose, I guess, out of just general interactions. I just enjoy real

life so much now. So I guess implementing a really strong, solid morning routine is a big

1:07.3

part of that for purely you, for not touching your phone, walking around, looking up at the

sky, listening to birds, connecting with actual nature, taking your shoes off, walking

on the beach, or the grass. But it is a big part of what I do. It's a big part of what most

of us do nowadays. It's knowing that you can create the balance there for yourself. It's

1:24.8

not going to happen automatically. You do have to give yourself distinct barriers, but

1:28.2

then respecting those barriers. It's hard, but it's also powerful.
