Each week we feature teachings by John Mark or other voices in the formation space.

This week we're going to hear a short teaching that John Mark gave at Gather 25,

a 25-hour global event for prayer, worship, and

teaching with locations around the world. In it, John Mark talks about what it means to grow in

holiness. Here's the teaching. Great to see you. My name is John Mark, and I'm from California.

Please do not hold that against me.

And it's really a joy to be with you.

It's always great to be in Texas, but by that I mean in the short window when it's not 150 degrees. But I wish I was with some of you in Uganda or New Zealand.

That would be my first pick, no lie.

But it is really an honor to be with you.

Let me just give you a moment before I share a few thoughts,

for you just to come to quiet before God.

I would invite you just to take a few deep

breaths. You can close your eyes if you want. Christians do that a lot. You don't need to.

Let me just give you a moment before I begin to just center yourself in God. We've been stirred up

in a really beautiful way. Maybe if you want to imagine just your

inner woman or man like a lake up in the mountains and it's good when the wind comes on the lake,

but that look in the morning when it is just like a mirror, like glass.

Let your inner being just come to peace in Christ. Colossians 3, let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, such as members of one body,

we are called to peace and be thankful.
