Summary

Does having children make life miserable and joyless? Are husbands useless if they’re not sharing the “mental load” of the marriage? Are men sexist for only dating women willing to ditch their careers and stay home with the kids?

These are the debates lighting up the internet right now—and we're not afraid to go there. Let’s talk about modern gender dynamics, the real cost of two-income households, and whether our culture is setting parents up to fail.

Women blaming men, men getting upset at women, and really the war between the sexes.

I think we can solve this, guys.

0:07.2

I think we can heal this divide.

0:08.9

And here's how.

0:10.9

Hey, everybody, welcome back to the Lila Rose show.

0:13.7

So from the beginning of time in the book of Genesis, you heard the story of Adam and Eve

0:17.8

and Eve biting the apple, offering it to Adam, Adam takes a bite.

0:22.6

God finds out after God had told them, don't do that. God obviously knows and sees what they're

0:26.8

doing. Then he confronts them in the garden and said, why did you do this? And Adam says, well,

0:31.3

this woman that you gave me gave me the apple and basically blames Eve. And then, you know,

0:36.4

Eve ultimately is the one who gave Adam the

0:38.0

apple. So from the beginning of time, there has been a tendency between man and women, men and

0:44.4

women who are made for each other. God designed us to complement each other. God designed us to be

0:49.1

able to as one flesh bring life into the world. It's an incredibly beautiful design. But from

0:53.7

the beginning of time,

0:54.4

there has been a tendency towards division, towards confusion, towards ultimately even blaming each other

1:01.3

from the very beginning of time. So what I want to do in today's episode is I have noticed

1:05.7

some extremely viral videos and commentary in just the last week about, yes, women blaming men and men getting

1:13.7

upset at women and really the war between the sexes, which I think is kind of raging right now

1:19.7

online and in our culture. And my hope with today's episode, in giving my thoughts on this,

1:25.7

is to, I hope, bridge some of the divide, at least

1:29.6

discuss some of the misunderstandings, some of where I think there are opposite extremes
