Then she said it twice because you can see that that wasn't exactly happening.

You guys aren't experiencing smiles and good attitude right now.

So consider this to be my show of symbiosis with you.

The team just got pasted.

Team got statemented by the Phillies. The team got statemented by the Phillies.

The team got humbled.

And there's a couple of different ways that you can react from something like that.

You can try the old Clint Hurdle shower well technique.

You can say, we're just going to forget this ever happened.

We're just going to move on to the Cardinals, three games in St. Louis.

And then we're going to go to another country for the rest of the week

and really set aside everything that we were thinking about.

Of course,

they're headed to play the Blue Jays in Toronto for the weekend.

You could do all that.

I don't know that it gets you anywhere.

See, the internal vision, when I talk to these players,

of what this team is about in 2026, is that they expect themselves to content.

I don't know that they expect themselves to be a best team in baseball or the best team in the league or even necessarily the best team in the central.

But they do expect to compete with anybody.

And they absolutely expect, not just to compete for a playoff spot, but to achieve one.
