This is the second interlude episode in my Bardstown Revisited series,

which is taking a second look at a mysterious string of crimes that begin unfolding in a small town in Kentucky.

If you are unfamiliar, I'd highly recommend you hit pause, go back, and start with the officer Jason Ellis episode I released a couple of weeks ago.

This interlude isn't a full length episode. In fact, it's not even unsolved or unresolved in any way.

It's merely meant to provide a deeper understanding of the overall story,

and allows me to go more in-depth than ever before.

This interlude provides additional context for the story of Crystal Rogers, a 35-year-old mother of five that disappeared in 2015.

In particular, it provides some background for Crystal's relatives,

who had gone through an eerily identical tragedy decades before her disappearance,

before she was even born, in fact.

It was a tragedy that, unlike Crystal's story, had some semblance of a resolution.

Frida Shereen Ballard was born on August 6th, 1959, to Till and Betty Ballard.

Sheree, as she would later be known, a shortened version of her middle name, was just one of six children.

Her younger brother, Tommy, would later become an integral part of this mysterious saga,

but that's a story for another day.
