Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the elusive Saturday edition of the yard.

Let me explain. I missed recording yesterday. I had originally planned to see my mother on Sunday. And one of those things where, yeah, she had gifts for the kids and I couldn't get

them before Christmas because I'd gone to New Mexico. And then as soon as I got back, I went on

vacation. So we just couldn't work it out. And so it's planned to be Sunday. And then mom hit me up

on Thursday night and said, hey, looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Well, I didn't realize

that the date had changed and had. And so I had to make some changes. Went down and met them.

And then I got back. I didn't feel well, to be honest with you. And I said, well, just maybe lay down

for a while. Maybe I'll feel better and record Friday night. Well, it didn't work out.

So here we are. So I apologize for the delay. Many of you have hit me up wondering if everything is okay

and where the Friday Boneyard is. Well, here it is. So it's on Saturday. So I apologize. So a lot's

happened as all these notifications come rolling in. I never

understand why that is. We'll just do all this together. I wish it would stop. I really do. Yeah,

there we go. So we're done. So here we are. And a lot has happened since we've been together.

Of course, Zach Selman from Oklahoma is now your new director

of athletics at Mississippi State. Now, a couple things about this. You know, from the very

beginning, a lot of people said, well, why do we need to conduct a national search if we're

just going to hire Jared Banco? I am a Jared Banco fan. Jared is a great friend. I had somebody offer me the opportunity to go to Georgia Southern this year and cover that baseball regional since we were not going to have a regional here. Unfortunately, they said, hey, Steve, I know you love college baseball. Would you love to go cover this for us? We would appreciate that. And Jared wanted me to come. Matter of fact, Jared sent me a Georgia

Southern cap and shirt, not that I could wear that in the press box. And to be honest with you,

I haven't wanted since then. I'm a Mississippi State guy. I don't wear other colleges stuff,

but I do appreciate the gift. And so, yeah, I like Jared Benko. And I would have been thrilled

for Jared Banco to be our

director of athletics. But you do a national search to get people like Zach Selman. Yeah,
