This week's episode covers the disturbing Balenciaga ad scandal and the lawsuit Balenciaga has launched in its wake, perhaps to distract from the larger outrage over their ad campaign featuring children. The underfire fashion house has issued an apology for the controversies and promised to revise their collective way of working. Looking at the ad images, the social media statements, and the notice of lawsuit that followed, it seems that Balenciaga is trying to pass responsibility to those it hired to create these images. I want to know what you think!

Welcome back to this week's episode of the Emily show. Today we have some updates and then a

0:06.7

scandal with a major fashion brand over an ad campaign and some of the items in it. And since

0:13.2

there is now a lawsuit and one of the scandalous items is a Supreme Court ruling, we're absolutely

0:19.5

going to talk about Balenciaga today. Now that will touch on some sensitive topics. Of course,

0:26.4

and I will always, always do my best to make sure that those are not graphic in nature.

0:33.2

Any more than the topics are going to be because it is dealing with suggestive images of children,

0:40.6

court cases, dealing with images of children. And so as we get into the Balenciaga case, we will

0:46.4

be talking about that subject matter, though really the focus is not just about the scandal and

0:53.2

the public outrage over this ad campaign, but over the fact that Balenciaga is now suing

0:59.2

in part because of the outrage, because of a Supreme Court case. And that is a very odd place to

1:05.7

be when you're the company that approved the photos suing the production company of the photo

1:12.7

shoot. And we'll talk about it. But we also need to talk about some of the sentencing that have

1:16.8

happened. I've been covering them over on YouTube, but have not touched back in on the podcast. And

1:22.3

that is Elizabeth Holmes's sentence and the Chris Lee sentences, the three defendants in that case

1:27.6

were all sentenced. And now we have what I didn't have when I addressed it over on YouTube,

1:32.1

are the documents and the minute orders from the court. So we have just a little bit more details.

1:36.7

So I will be touching on those quickly at the top of the show as well. Stay tuned. There's a lot

1:41.9

to cover. If you are here, that's fine. If you need to time stamp, we will time stamp when I

1:48.5

switch topics. And I always swoop before I switch topics. Unless the ADHD gets me and I forget,

1:53.8

but then my editors added in for me. So you will know as we're switching topics, what we're getting

1:59.0

into and it is, it is, we just, this is what we're talking about today. Emily, are you procrastinating

2:06.1

and uncomfortable a bit the the Supreme Court case that is underlying this lawsuit, which is a
