Part 1 ended with Baylor defeating Damon Blackfire during the famous joust at the wedding

tourney that saw Princess Daenerys Targaryen sister to King Dere on the second, The Good,

Mary Prince Mary on Martell, ruler of Dorn, and earning him the name Brakesbeer.

This would have been a disappointing moment for those who hated Dorn and didn't want

to see them join the realm, as well as for fans of Damon Blackfire who didn't want

to see him lose.

Had Damon won, it might have struck a blow for those with anti-Dornish sentiments.

He was sort of the champion of that attitude as well as other things.

As it turned out for Baylor himself, it was a huge win.

Daenerys was his aunt, Maran Martell, his uncle, his very person represented the new

piece, the seven kingdoms at last, joined with Dorn as they were in his bloodlines.

His father Daron and grandfather slash namesake, Baylor the Blessed, forged the piece, but

Baylor Brakesbeer was the physical embodiment of it.

He was the produce of those marriages, those arrangements.

In many ways he was the future, a new look for House Targaryen, one that physically actually

looks more Westerosi, seems appropriate in a sense for a newly united seven kingdoms.

All the more perfect then that his defeated opponent, Damon Blackfire, was to the eyes

of many, the perfect Targaryen, despite not technically being one thanks to his birth.

Despite that technicality, though he represented the old ways in many ways.

Parking back to the time when there were dragons, when Dorn was an enemy, a state of affairs

that had lasted much longer than the time of dragons in Westerosi for counting.

By beating Damon in front of so many, he showed that future, Damon, lying defeated in
