Just in time for graduation season, today I'm talking with one of the most memorable commencement speakers in recent memory.

In 2015, film director John Waters delivered a gleefully subversive speech to the graduates of the Rhode Island School of Design or RISD.

The speech which advised young people to eavesdrop, listen to their enemies and horrify us with new ideas.

Went viral in part because it was so brilliantly on point about making a living as a creative person.

John Waters has written a book based on that famous speech and it makes a great gift for any graduate.
