Hello and welcome to the Story Grid podcast. This is a show dedicated to helping you become a better writer.

0:07.1

I'm your host Tim Graal and I am a struggling writer trying to figure out how to tell a story that works.

0:13.1

Joining me shortly is Sean Coyne. He is a creator of Story Grid, the author of the book Story Grid,

0:19.0

and an editor with over 25 years experience. In this episode,

0:23.7

we dive into the second sequence of my middle build, and I'm fresh off of this great win where I

0:30.5

wrote all of these scenes that got his approval and allowed me to move on, and so I confidently

0:35.9

1:25.3

well, like two and a half because about halfway through the third scene,

1:28.9

I was like, this sucks. And I just like threw it away. I mean, I have it, but I like threw it in

1:35.2

the trash because it was like, I tried to come up with this scenario and it just wasn't working

1:40.2

and like everything was moving too fast. So like Jesse kind of came to this moment where she

1:46.4

was like attacked in the first part of the scene, which left me with like nothing to do for the
