Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, the critical Kashbian sea state that is helping Europe

ride out the Russian embargo of energy and the war in Ukraine that is helping the Kashbian

sea convert itself into the prosperity of the 21st century.

A visit by the President of Israel is to Herzog to Baku.

What is the significance? Malcolm Hull, the conference of presidents, major American

Jewish organizations, continues with me, and we're very pleased to be welcomed to welcoming

Dr. Brenda Schaefer, the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, to help us understand

the significance of this visit and what it means for the immediate future and for the

Kashbian sea basin.

Brenda, a very good evening to you. Herzog was fetted in a fashion that I could only

associate with friends of the state. What does this relationship mean for Azerbaijan and

for Israel? Good evening, John.

Yeah, it was really great to observe the visit of President Herzog of Israel in Azerbaijan.

Yeah, I think that it's very meaningful visit in the sense that Azerbaijan was one of the

first Muslim majority countries to have very open and warm relations with Israel.

And I think it has some impact on the Abrahamic court's process, because I think for about

two decades before some of the Gulf states started to more openly engage with Israel.

Azerbaijan, Muslim majority, Shia majority, even located in a very difficult neighborhood

bordering both Iran and Russia, showed that they can have very warm relations with the

Jewish state and publicly have no implications for this, no backlash, no major protests

about this or anything.
