And the Iranian authorities, this is Iran.

The Iranian authorities are not giving clear answers as to who the man was, how he got there,

why there are obvious falsehoods being told about him, and why is not now available to a thorough investigation of an attack on an embassy which is foreign soil, if you'll recall.

I welcome Ali and Surah Manov, the ambassador from the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom. He is in London to help me understand this story, which is continuing to be investigated by all sides, I believe.

Ali, in a very good day to you, this is alarming, not the least, because you're a member of the same very careful representatives of Azerbaijan as the ambassador in Iran. So your embassy in London feels this, I'm sure the embassy in Washington and around the world.

What to make of this attack now a week later. Good evening to you.

Good evening, John. Good to be with you as always. Indeed, we have witnessed in completely unprecedented, blatant attack against diplomatic premises over the Azerbaijani embassies in Tehran at about 8.30 in the morning on January 27th.

A man with an AK-47, a traumatic gun entered the embassy, opened fire, injured several people and killed the security chief, Al-Han Salikov.

Ali, a present Ali, a voted post-humusly, the security chief with a medal and also the two gentlemen who acted heroically to prevent a father massacre.

They were announced, however, they were able to stop the armed intruder. You can imagine what would happen had he not been stopped by sheer heroic resilience of our security personnel.

Now, the video is pretty telling. You could see that the Iranian security guard posted outside the embassy. So a man with a machine gun greeted the man with a machine gun and did not act, which is rather surprising because as you understand it, according to the Vienna Convention,

the Iranian side bears full responsibility for the security of the embassy as a receiving host country. All kinds of incinerations by the Iranian side that was a personal motivated attack or that he somehow mentally disturbed.

As a virgin inside the rejects as absurd, we have stated at the level of our deputy foreign minister that we do not trust the Iranian side to provide security for our diplomatic personnel.

Now, this also reflects on a anti-Azor by Janie propaganda and some of hysterical atmospherics in the Iranian media and official channels which created this environment in which such an event

could be possible. I am especially concerned as you understand our embassies in London was also attacked in August of last year, 2022 by a group of religious radicals which we considered to be completely unacceptable as well.
