Quick question for ancient warfare answers.

But at least I got it fast.

Murray mentioned the Last Kingdom in the Finis Britannia episode.

My question is, how accurate do you feel Last Kingdom is in its overall theme and description of the period?

I guess that the simple

colour scheme that everyone wears are not the best example of accuracy.

So the interesting thing there for me is that I started reading The Last Kingdom as books,

Bernard Cornwall being my sort of favorite ancient slash medieval historical novelist,

and of course Napoleonic too, for those of you who are fans of Sharp.

And in that sense, I think that he gives the best description of a shield war warfare in in fiction of how a shield wall works

and the mindset of fighting in a shield wall.
