And that is to talk about ancient Roman Marines.

And the question comes from Daniel Perkins, and it is basically saying, did they fight and were they

equipped the same?

Did they participate in land battles?

And were they seen as inferior or superior in society and the army?

Yaspah, Marines.

Yes, Murray. Well, that's going to be not enough for Jasper, Marines. Yes, Marie.

Well, that's going to be not enough for 10 minutes, clearly.

But we can start, no, we can start with a philosophical question, what are Marines,

but that's maybe a bit too silly.

It's actually, it's somewhat simple.

It seems that the earliest Marines at Rome deployed on our ships in, say, the Punic Wars,

those are just legionaries, plain and simple.
