It's about a week in, I'm recording this show, about a weekend after the massacre in Las Vegas.

And like you, I have been, I've been bothered intensely by the outpouring of either mordland and meaningless

statements or the Niagara-like cascade of outraged indignation and the political steps and the public policy procedures that must now be put in place,

the changes to legislation that must now occur in order to make sure that this never happens again.

And so I resolved that I was going to wait for a good few days because

it is very difficult to speak analytically about an event of such horror so soon after it occurred,

while the images are still fresh in our mind's eye. But it's almost a week now,

and although so far at the time of this recording, little additional information has emerged

about the shooter's motivation, my point is that it doesn't much matter,

unless, unless it turns out that his motivation was either Islamic or left wing, right?

The aggressive left wing, which is virtually sanctified violence against conservatives.

There is a possibility that it might turn out that is connected, but it's too early.

I'm not going to speculate.
