I found some interesting articles.

First of all, and this is, of course, the ongoing, probably one of the hugest worries for the industry.

We have a vaccine.

So why are we still killing millions of birds?

Bloom expert insights column, the meat business on Meeting Place. If you ask most people why we

don't vaccinate poultry against avian flu, he says, they'll assume it's a science problem.

It's not. It's largely an economics problem, specifically a global trade problem.

It's also a problem for chickens, but you know, what the hell? Chicken isn't just a domestic

protein in the U.S. It's a major export commodity, generating billions of dollars annually,

billions of dollars for whom?

That is the question I want answered, but Gregory isn't answering that question.

He's talking about the fact that there are a lot of countries.

He doesn't say which ones they are that impose import restrictions on poultry,

or sometimes not just the restrictions, but bans, on poultry imports from nations that vaccinate against avian influenza.

And it's because something which I didn't know is that vaccination doesn't necessarily mean that the bird isn't carrying the flu.
