And here we go again, Florida.

This time it involves someone who probably was pretty good at her job, but she didn't do the

correct steps to be good at her job, and that has landed her in trouble. Advent Health in Palm

Coast, Florida is a really new hospital, opening back in 2023. The private nonprofit four-story hospital

with 100 private beds and an emergency department is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

And clearly, it was needed in the area because after just one year of operation, the hospital had treated over 30,000 people and had hired a staff of 650 employees. Part of that initial

staffing when the hospital opened was 29-year-old Autumn Bardisa. Autumn was hired as an advanced

nurse. That's an educated nurse who has yet to pass her licensure boards. With her new job, she would be

paid like a registered nurse but work under a nurse's supervision until she passed her required

licensing tests. Now, she seemed to be doing great, and after just a short time, she told her

supervisors she had passed her licensing boards. She even provided a

license number for human resources to cross-reference with the state board licensing database.

During the documentation gathering, hospital staff noticed that the license number that

Autumn had provided, well, it had her correct first name, but the last name was different.

When they asked Autumn about this, she said she had recently got married and that was why the name

was different. HR totally accepted this as a plausible answer, but they asked that Autumn bring in

her marriage certificates so that she could cross-reference

the names and, you know, check everything out and make it legit. And then everyone just kind of

forgot about it. Autumn went on to work at the hospital with no more scrutiny. She even was offered
