Gregory Coppley, Defense and Foreign Affairs publisher and editor,

we turn immediately to Australian politics because Anthony Albanese is the

Prime Minister recently in the news for making a remark that was seen as facile about the Pacific Forum and about his

neighbors in the vast Oceania who are now at risk from the depredations of the

People's Republic of China, similar to the one that

we saw in the Philippines recently.

However, there's always politics in Australia, and Gregory tells me there's now talk of

an election, and the challenge to Mr. Albanese's unusual leadership by Peter Dutton.

What do we need to know about Peter Dutton and what are the issues

especially the foreign policy issues for this potential election could date to you.

There's talk of an early election,

although I don't know why the Prime Minister

Anthony Albanese would trigger that

because he is going down in the polls so rapidly that he doesn't benefit by having an

early election at this stage unless he can find a way to get his polling numbers up again.

But the election is seeing moving toward the Liberal Party

under Peter Dutton, who's presently the leader of the opposition, and he's been a long time
