You're listening to 20,000 hurts. I'm Dallas Taylor. I love traveling. When I'm in a new place, outside my comfort zone,

I can feel my brain working in a new way. One of my favorite parts of traveling is hearing sounds that are different

than what I'm used to. When I stayed in Italy, I was struck by how it wasn't just the language

that sounded different. It was the cars, the mopeds, the birds, the footsteps on

cobblestone. It was a vibrant burst of Sonic information. If you intentionally

become conscious about what you're hearing, you can experience this anywhere.

And in some places, you can find sounds that you can't hear anywhere else in the world.

Even here in the US, there are some truly unique sounds that you need to know about.
