Hello, it's Sunday, the 8th of August, and thanks for joining me for the latest on travel and destinations from the Greenlist and the travel desk of the Independent.

Today I'm at London-Stan-Pancras International Station where the Eurostar link to Paris is coming back to life.

I'll be talking about hotel quarantine and more to the point how to avoid it and correcting

yet more official nonsense about testing before travel to the UK.

London St Pancras International is, I think, the most beautiful railway station in the world.

I'm sitting beneath the vast canopy with natural light flooding down,

the Victorian brickwork looking absolutely splendid and a sense of excitement.

Just across from here there is a fleet of Euro-style trains. This is, of course, the London hub for the operation going from here to Paris to Amsterdam and to Brussels.

But for the past many months, the whole of 2021, at least, it has been a miserable time with very, very few services and very, very, very few people on them.

But I've been down in departures, having a look at people queuing up there. It is getting very busy indeed.

And that's because, of course, at 4 a.m. today, France stopped being on the controversial, to say the least, Amber Plus list.
