Vice President Kamil Harris plans to propose the first federal ban on corporate price

gouging in the food and grocery industries, a measure she will detail at a campaign

rally in North Carolina. Her proposal includes increased scrutiny of merges between large

supermarkets and food producers to prevent price hikes. The initiative is

part of a broader economic policy platform that aims to distinguish her agenda from the

former President Joe Biden's, though it remains aligned with Biden's focus on consumer protection

and regulating corporate mergers.

Harris will also address high prices in the meat industry and propose measures to lower

costs in prescription drugs and housing.

Yeah, it's not, I mean, look, I think the real thing she's trying to do is distinguish

herself from the policies of Donald Trump.
