Red Sox fall tonight, seven to three in the one game, the makeup game with the Cleveland Indians. And the socks lose for just the second time T.C. here in the month of August, now nine and two. We'll start with Red Sox, and they lose last night. Mads have any thoughts on this ballgame last night? Well, look, I would just say, you know, first of all, it's Doug Fist who run the mound.

Okay, so you know, first of all, it's Doug Fister on the mound.

Okay, so you don't want to put too much emphasis in one game where Doug Fister is, you're putting balls on a T for Edwin and Carnacione for crying out loud. but I will say, you know, now you get St. Louis in here,

then the Yankees come back in and then you go to Cleveland.

Don't undo what you did in New York.

They gave a game back last night, right? They lost. Yankees won, so now immediately the game that they won on Sunday comes off. So they chop that one right off again. But don't take this week for granted. Just because you're up five and a half now with 45 to go or ish, don't all of a sudden think, well, this thing's over and we can coast. So I would just caution against that. Like, you know, I think there's a little bit of a letdown factor coming out of that Yankee series because the games were intense. You know, a couple of them went right down to the wire. Like, so it's an easy letdown night. Like, to me, I felt that. Scheduled loss? Yeah. That's what I felt like. Yeah. Someone actually emailed me about that, and I said there was an element of that. So you got to bounce back. Like, now get back on the ball here and have a good week, and especially because you're at home,

you've cleaned up against the National League.

Like, don't all of a sudden get into this letdown where you go two and five on a homestand.

Like, that would just be bad news, right?

So that's the part of it.

You know, the other thing is that the Devers thing is getting more and more real.

Like, you look at this kid and you say, it felt like they were, you know, playing a long

shot, bringing him up saying, this is the kid that's going to rescue our season.

But he's coming close.

It was pretty impressive.

You pitch him outside, he puts it over the monster. You throw it on top of his shoes. He yanks it down the right field line. Okay, so I look at that, and I say Cleveland's the team that you played in the playoffs last year. They completely shut you down. It feels like they know how to pitch your right-handed batters, you know, bats, Bogart's like they know how to handle those guys. They did a good job shutting them down last year, and I think that they probably have a good plan against him again. But now Devers comes out last night and hits one into the left field seats. Then they throw him a breaking ball down and in, and he jacks at 385 into the bullpen. And so I look at that and say two very different approaches in a baths. Maybe there's a chance this kid's already in their head. Maybe Cleveland now looks at it and go, how are we going to get this kid out? Like, we've got to figure this one out. Meanwhile, Ben Attendee hit a couple of balls well again last night. He belted one out. The ballpark there in Cleveland is favorable for left-handed

batters. Like, you know, there is an X-factor element with Devers now in the Indians. And the only

reason I mentioned it is because they said to you yesterday, if they were to start the playoffs

right now, you're getting Cleveland. Unless you catch Houston, in all probability, you're

getting the Indians. That's virtually guaranteed. I got that after yesterday. Yes. I understand. So you're going to get Cleveland in the first round. And if you can get a guy in that lineup that the Indians look at and say, what the hell are we going to do with this guy? How do we get this guy out? And maybe Devers is that guy. I mean, those two homers last night. Could you draw them up more opposite?
