Everything on the table from the weekend is now on the board. For me, it stretches back just a little bit. I was off Friday, so we do get to get into some of the, or circle back to some of the Patriots stuff from Thursday night, which I want to get into that. Also, the Ezekiel Elliott News broke while I was gone on Friday, so I want to get into that. Roger Goodell is showing up at Gillette Stadium. I want to get into that. But why don't you say that we start with some Red Sox, maas? Sure. So here's what I'm curious about. Big Jim Murray in the update studio as well.

Hi, Murray. Hello. Hello. Hi. I pulled a Maz. Strong start. What are we going to focus on, Maz? The two out of three that they won, and the last two wins coming off of a crusher on Friday, and five and a half games in first, and that sort of thing, or are we going to spend time on Farrell and his boner last night,

meaning his mental gaffe, his mental boner with the Addison Reed situation, or Nunez and his base running on Friday? Are we going to pick on those things? Or we're going to look at the overall situation with the Red Sox and say, pretty good. I vote for all the above. I vote for all the above.

What's the lead story today?

The lead story overall is that the Red Sox came back and won two out of three, and they have positioned themselves now to close up the American League East.

To me, that is the ultimate takeaway.

So look, I give the Red Sox credit after that disaster on Friday night, and that's what it was, a freaking implosion on Friday night.

They bounced back, they won on Saturday, and then they got into a grind of a game last night that honestly I thought was breaking for the Yankees.

I don't know how you couldn't think that.

Otherwise, New York has built its team a certain way now. And if they have Jordan Montgomery going against Chris Sale and it's one, one in the eighth, that's a win for New York. And so it's set up to win for the Yankees. The Red Sox pulled a rabbit out of the hat. All in all, you take two out of three. It's the first time he beat New York this year. I give the Red Sox all the credit in the world from bouncing back after that game Friday night.

So this is the type of stuff I want to see them pull off. And there's no better place to do it than New York. I think I said to you in the, you know, in the exchange this morning, when the Yankees are good, the final two winnings in that stadium might be the toughest outs in baseball. I mean, it's hard to, you know, it's hard to find a place that's tougher to win in and get the final outs of a game than the Yankees stadium when the Yankees are half decent. And so the Red Sox had problems with it over the weekend. I'm not shocked that they did, but most everybody does.

Ultimately, they get out of there with two wins.

Now, if you want to get to some of the particulars,

there was enough that went wrong, enough that went wrong,

that made me look at them and say those flaws are still there.

Okay, well, so can we tie it in in this fashion in that, you know, talented team, as good as anyone going to be right there, excellent pitching, deep lineup, all the strengths.

But if they get caught in the postseason, don't you think managing and or base running could

be the reasons how they get caught in the postseason?

Yes, yeah, and I put those things into the same area and to me they all fall under

the umbrella of feral it's the way they play you know how they run the bases even the pitching

changes all of it the pitching decisions all of it and i look i still wonder whether they're

going to be able to produce runs offensively against certain teams at certain times, but we'll see.
