A reading from the book of Nehemiah.

These are the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubububal, the son of Shieldtail, and Jesua.

Saraya, Jeremiah, Ezra, Amariah, Malik, Haddish, Shekhaniah, Rayam, Maramoth, Ito, Gnithoi, Abijah, Midgaman, Mayadaya, Bilga, Shimea, Joyerib, Jadaa, Salu, Amok, Hilkaya, Jadaa.

These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brothers in the days of Jesua, and the Levites,

Jeshua, Benuah, Kadmiel, Sharabaya, Judah, and Mananaiah, who with his brothers

was in charge of the songs of Thanksgiving.

And Baghaya and Unai and their brothers stood opposite them in the service.

And Jeshua was the father of Joachim, Joachim, the father of Eliaship, Eliasheb, the father

of Joiada, Joiada the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan the father of Jyab, Eliasheb, the father of Joyada, Joyita, the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan,

the father of Jadua. And in the days of Joachim were priests, heads of father's houses of Saraya,

Moraya, of Jeremiah, Hananiah of Ezra, Mashulam, of Amariah, Jehoanan, of Molokai,

Jonathan, of Shebanaya, Joseph, of Haram,

Adna, of Moriah, Helkai, of Ido Zechariah, of Ghanathan, Mashulam, of Abijah, Zichry, of Minyaman, of Moadiah,

Pilthai, of Bilga, Shamoa, of Shamaeah, Jahanathan, of Joyyaman, of Moadaya, Piltai, of Bilga, Shemua, of Shamaea, Jahanathan, of Joyerib, Matanai, of Jadaea, Uzi, of Salai, Kalai, of Amok, Iber, of Hilkaya, Hashibaya,

of Jedediah, Nathano. In the days of Eliaship, Joyida, Johanan, and Judua,

the Levites were recorded as heads of father's houses. So too were the priests in the reign of

Darius, the Persian. As for the sons of Levi, their heads of father's houses were written in

the book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan, the son of Eliaship, and the chiefs of the Levites.

Hashibaya, Sherebaia, and Jesua, the son of Cadmiel, with their brothers who stood opposite

them to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David, the man of God,

watch by watch.
