Summary
One of the shining examples of America's post-war optimism and wealth creation as millions chased the American Dream, Detroit has fallen on rather hard times of late. It's fall from grace is well documented, but my visit to the home of motown has left me wondering where the soul is now.

| 0:44.7 | nowhere have I thought, oh, I'll just pop in here because it is a city whose soul has escaped, I fear. |

| 0:59.7 | Detroit Motor City was in the, I guess, late 1950s and 1960s, |

| 1:11.7 | The golden age of the motorcar of the tail fin. |

| 1:20.8 | and I may have to take that picture |
| 1:22.3 | because it is looking very, very radiant. |
| 1:27.8 | So even though that was a lovely, perfectly framed vision, when you get close, you don't |
| 1:36.3 | suddenly think, ah, right, I understand this city now in the way that I've been going |
| 1:41.6 | down cities, I love cities, I love the thrill of getting to a new place of making discoveries. |
| 1:49.4 | I mean, I was this week in beautiful Toronto. |
| 1:54.9 | And I just found a fantastic bar, which I will certainly go back to. |
