Summary

Have you ever stayed up late scrolling Instagram or YouTube and woken up exhausted? When that happens to me, I always think, "Night Jon screwed Morning Jon." Have you ever decided to change your sheets after you get home from work, only to come home to a completely unmade bed you forgot all about? Morning You screwed Night You. How can you prepare future you for success?

In this episode, I'll answer that question and wrap up our special three-part series with the last gift I want you to give yourself this holiday season. (It's okay if you haven't listened to Parts 1 & 2 yet, I promise you'll be able to follow along!)

I'm your host John Eckman and today I'm going to teach you how to prepare your future

0:29.7

self. But first, a quick word from today's sponsor. If you want to accomplish more goals

0:36.1

next year, you should use the calendar that I've been using for the last 11 years. It's

0:40.6

called the Finish Calendar and I love it for seven very specific reasons. Number one,

0:45.4

the Finish Calendar is big and beautiful. It's 36 inches tall by 25 inches wide. This

0:50.1

thing is massive. It gives you enough space to actually plan things each day. Number two,

0:55.5

and that I love it. Finish calendar is reversible. You've got a vertical side and a wide

1:00.5

orientation side. That's like two calendars for the price of one. Me myself, I prefer vertical,

1:05.8

but I also like that it comes in two versions, traditional paper and dry erase. Number three,

1:10.7

reason I love it, it makes time real. When someone says, hey, John, can you do that project in the

1:15.4

next six weeks? That time feels fictional to me. Six weeks from now, I can't even wrap my head

1:21.3

around what will be going on then. I need to be able to see the whole year, not just talk about it.

1:26.3

Number four, reason I love it. It's a Monday focus calendar, which means each week starts with Monday.

1:31.0

A lot of calendars start the week with Sunday, but that's not how my head works. Monday is the first

1:35.6

day of the week to me and Sunday is the last. For example, I don't know anyone who plans their new

1:40.3

week on Saturday night because Sunday is the first day of the week. Number five, reason I love it.

1:45.2

Studies show that planning when and where that you're going to work on your goals doubles the

1:50.5

chances you'll achieve them doubles it. That's amazing. This calendar makes it easier. Number six,

1:55.8

the finished calendar has 12 encouraging statements on it that I wrote to help sling shot you into a
