reporting for barons in Wall Street Journal and other distinguished publications. First,

the climate in the paradise of the South of France climate. Simon, I reported in New England,

the temperatures rise maybe to the 60s during the day, a mild wind. How is it with you? Good

evening to you. Good evening to you, John, as well. Well, this summer, just to put this in

context, it was very hot. It was up to 100, maybe more on some days. It is now cooled down. Thank

goodness. And we have a light wind, maybe two to three miles an hour, and it's getting to a

high of around 60. So it's nice and cool. And actually, we had some rain a few hours ago,

just a light drizzle of rain, something that we really need a lot of here in the South of

France. It's a very, very dry, not one war, but two wars. Simon, energy prices. Do they reflect

anxiety about the winter ahead? Absolutely. They do. So Brent crude is now fetching around

$91 a barrel. Brent crude is the European benchmark and a very important one worldwide as well.

And that's up from $85. So that's your six dollars up. And that was on October the fifth,

which is just before the terrorist attack on Israel, which was atrocious, of course. So that's

showing tension and worry of oil traders. And from energy prices, we go immediately to the worry

around the world of a slowdown. Europe is still struggling with inflation and the ECB still

intends to hike. We're told the Federal Reserve remears the same thing. I mentioned that before

we get to the recession worries, however, you and I are speaking on Starlink, which is SpaceX's

launch of satellite swimming above me. 40 years ago, there was a different world entirely. Simon,
