The first news story I have for you today is one of those strange but true stories.

Film director Mike Figgus, who is the director of such films as Leaving Las Vegas, was recently held for questioning at the Los Angeles International Airport for five

hours because a TSA screener misunderstood something he said at the screening.

He reportedly told the screener he was at the airport to quote shoot a pilot.

Of course in Hollywood speak that means he was filming a TV episode that might turn into a series.

Okay.

Just add that to your list of things not to mention at airport security.

Former guest Tim from The Twisted Rist podcast sent in a story that he saw in the

Globe and Mail, Globe and Mail.com, about the new x-ray machines that are coming

to airport sometime soon. You may or may not have heard of these yet, I think I talked about them a long time ago on the show.

There's a new generation of these full scan machines. The first generation was thought to give you pictures that were too

revealing. Basically it was as if you were standing there naked in front of the

screeners. And there was a public outcry including from privacy protection groups such as the American Civil Liberties
