Let's talk about the islands in the Puget Sound.

I'd like to welcome the show Alex Schuman from the Seattle area who's come to talk to us

about the San Juan Islands.

Now, I'm guessing the fact that I said you're from the Seattle area

gave us a little clue where the San Juan Islands are,

but where are the San Juan Islands?

Great question.

They're a chain of islands in about the most northwestern

corner of the lower 48, so they're about a hundred miles northwest of Seattle.

Excellent.

And for those people get really technical,

I think you're going to talk to about the San Juan's

and then a couple of other things that are in the Puget Sound

but are not technically the San Juan Islands,

is that right? That's right. There's a very technical geographical definition for what's a San Juan island, but generally a lot of people will refer to all the islands in the Puget Sound is kind of San Juan Islands,

but a few of them are just islands in the Puget Sound, not technically San Juan Islands.
