Amateur Traveler episode 306. Today the Amateur Traveler talks about pubs and

poets and Vikings as we go to Dublin, Ireland. I'm going to go to sit in one more cafe.

I know that I should be heading home,

but maybe not, maybe not to the day.

Welcome to the amateur traveler, I'm your host Chris Christensen. Before we get

into this week's interview I do have two news stories for you. In the first one, 30 rock star Alec Baldwin learned he's not quite as important as he may have thought

he was.

He was kicked off a plane for not turning off his cell phone when he was requested to by the flight attendant.

Repeatedly, one would assume, they took a one hour delay.

He was apparently not even on a call.

He was playing words with friends. And they were at the gate, they were not moving, the flight was not smarter. A federal aviation official told the Los Angeles Times that if American Airlines

chooses to file a complaint, there could be an investigation and he could be fined.

And then speaking of people doing stupid things, there's a hubbub because a girl was stopped because she had a gun-themed purse by the TSA and missed her flight.

I'm going to side with a TSA on this one. Don't be stupid. Don't bring a gun

theme purse through the checkpoint. Don't wear your ironic mad bomber t-shirt.
