Amateur Traveler episode 216. Today the Amateur Traveler talks about meetups,

minivans and muzzuzu as we go to Malawi. Wowie. Welcome to the amateur traveler. Before we get into today's interview I do have one

new story for you and that obviously is Haiti. There's been a tremendous loss of life in

that country and certainly if you have not already heard

it's useful to know that you can help out by texting the word Haiti to the number 9,000,99 on your cell phone to donate $10 to the Red Cross.

It also became a bit of a travel story this week when Royal Caribbean announced that they

were going back into Haiti.

They have a private beach in the northern part of Haiti,

about 85 driving miles from Port of Prince.

And they announced that they were going back in.

They were bringing supplies, but they were also dropping off passengers

and many thought that unseemly I wrote a blog post supporting their effort I'd be

interested if you'd read the blog post and then vote on the fan page that's at

Unfortunately it looks like the amateur traveler Vietnam tour is probably not going to happen

didn't get anybody to sign up, I know it was short notice.

Several people told me they were interested, but they just really had already made plans for

that time of year.
