Summary

The Amateur Traveler talks to Pam Mandel of Nerd’s Eye View and the Holoholo Wale blogs about two less visited islands in the Hawaiian islands – Lanai and Molokai. Both islands are less developed than their neighbors and better islands for relaxing on a beach than filling up your time with excursions from the activity vendors. Molokai is the one of the two that stole Pam’s heart away with a more authentic Hawaiian experience. Molokai might be best known for recently sainted Father Damien who worked with victims of Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease) on the island until he himself succumbed to the disease. The first one Travel Channel was sold this week, sold to Scripps, that also owns the Food Network.

And for those of you who have watched the Travel Channel recently, you can understand why there might be some

The second news story caught a lot of press and that was when a San Jose mom and her

cranky two-year-old were kicked off a southwest flight. The two-year-old was screaming so loud that

1:04.8

Southwest said passengers could not hear the passenger safety announcement and so

1:09.5

they took action. They have been on

1:13.0

the action and a lot of people have been lining up behind

1:16.7

Southwest on this one because apparently they have also been on

flights with screaming two-year-olds and I'm very sympathetic to parents of young kids,

with a mom who couldn't control a young kid

1:29.2

and could not keep her in a safety belt.
